Quick guide
Your reference photos give RealYou a starting point for creating images of you. A thoughtful selection helps communicate your appearance more clearly than a folder full of nearly identical selfies.
Start with a clear view of your face
Choose sharp photos where your face is easy to see. Soft daylight is a useful starting point: face a window or step into open shade, and avoid strong shadows across your eyes.
Skip sunglasses, face-covering accessories, heavy beauty filters, and photos where your face is tiny in the frame. Use photos of yourself that you have permission to upload.
Add variety, without changing the person
Include a mix of front-facing and slightly angled photos, a few natural expressions, and different backgrounds. Use recent images that reflect how you currently look.
A burst of the same selfie contributes less variety than photos taken at different times. Group pictures can also make it harder to tell who the reference is meant to represent.
Follow the count shown in the app
RealYou’s required number of reference photos can vary with the creation flow. Use the minimum and maximum shown on your upload screen rather than relying on a fixed number from an older guide.
Review your selection before continuing. If a photo is blurry, very dark, or heavily edited, replace it with a clearer reference when the screen allows you to change your selection.
Treat the first result as a starting point
AI results can vary, and a reference photo is not a guarantee of an exact likeness. If an output feels off, review both your reference selection and your prompt. Keep the prompt simple while you work out which references represent you best.
