RealYou vs Aragon for Professional Headshots: Brief or Package?

Published by RealYou · 6 min read

Quick guide

Choose RealYou for an individual professional headshot you want to direct with your own text brief on iPhone. Choose Aragon when you prefer selecting a curated attire/background package and reviewing its delivered set. We recommend RealYou for a specific, familiar work look because you can name the clothing, light and expression together. The deciding question is how you want to specify and revise the portrait, rather than which service promises the largest pile of images.

Choose how you want to make the creative decisions

A useful headshot brief might be “my usual dark polo, a plain pale backdrop and a relaxed expression.” RealYou takes references plus text, so those preferences can live in one description. Aragon’s documented headshot workflow uses uploaded photos and selected attire/background choices.

We checked the official product and pricing pages on October 28, 2026. Our recommendation is about the work you do before and after generation; we have not run a controlled likeness comparison between these services.

Compare the decisions, not just the output count

Both routes still require a person to reject an unsuitable face or misleading detail.

What Aragon’s package buys you

At our October 28 check, Aragon’s pricing page displayed Basic at $35 for 40 headshots with one attire/background choice, Standard at $45 for 60 with two of each, and Executive at $75 for 100 with all listed choices and enhanced resolution. The page marks these as promotional prices; verify the selected offer and checkout total.

That creates a concrete decision: if only one familiar outfit and plain backdrop are needed, a bigger gallery may add little to your task. If you want several combinations, check the actual included options before choosing a tier. Delivered-image counts do not tell you how many will meet your requirements.

What to budget for RealYou

RealYou offers in-app purchases and credits. Look at the current persona-creation and generation choices in your app, and set a maximum for this headshot exercise before trying variations. We are not claiming a fixed per-headshot price or that RealYou always costs less than a package.

Start with one written brief and define the acceptable result: recognizable face, familiar work clothes, quiet background and usable framing. Review the first candidate before paying for a second idea. A rejection tells you which part of the task remains unsolved; it is not a reason to keep buying variations indefinitely.

Plan the revision before the first generation

Imagine a freelancer who wants a work portrait for a personal website and LinkedIn. They own a navy polo and want an approachable look. In RealYou, write that exact brief and review the face first. If the face works but the image looks too formal, change only the outfit or expression instruction. Other details may still vary between generations.

For Aragon, first inspect the package’s available attire and backdrops. If its delivered set does not fit, consult the redo/refund route before downloading. Its headshot refund policy treats downloading as use, reviews whether uploads followed its instructions, and requires requests within 14 calendar days of purchase. Its pricing FAQ also describes contacting support for a redo. Read the current conditions before assuming you can download everything and still receive a refund.

This is a decision example, not a tested generation or a guarantee that either service can reproduce an exact garment.

A complete professional brief for RealYou

Use recent, clear references that represent your current appearance. Follow the count shown in the creation flow and upload only images you have permission to use. RealYou processes photos through cloud and third-party AI services.

Try: “An approachable professional head-and-shoulders portrait of me in my usual navy polo shirt, no jacket, plain pale-gray background, soft daylight, looking toward the camera with a small relaxed smile, natural skin texture, current hairstyle and grooming as in my reference photos, enough space around my head and shoulders for a profile crop.”

Replace the polo with your normal work top. This suggested prompt expresses a goal, not a tested result. If your company requires an exact uniform, badge or genuine camera photo, arrange that photograph instead of assuming a text instruction satisfies the requirement.

  1. Write the destination requirements and your acceptable-result checklist.
  2. Create your persona with current references, then submit one simple headshot brief.
  3. Reject changed facial proportions, age or skin tone before evaluating wardrobe.
  4. Check the saved portrait at full size and in the destination’s small profile preview.

Likeness matters more than a polished backdrop

LinkedIn’s profile-photo rules allow artistic renderings but require the image to reflect your likeness. That is a standard to evaluate, not advance approval of an AI tool or its output. Your employer or professional body may also have requirements.

Compare a candidate with a recent ordinary photo: eyes, face shape, hairline, glasses and visible work details should be recognizable. Leave out an image with invented credentials or a changed face even if the background is perfect. If no candidate passes, use a recent genuine photograph.
